Distance Learning Program

Dear CISM Parents,

It is hard to believe that the end of the First Semester is just around the corner.  We had an exciting, fun-filled October and I would like to take this opportunity to provide updates as we enter the month of November.

With the upcoming 31st ASEAN Summit next week, the entire Early Years and Elementary School teams have been busy preparing distance-learning lessons which will begin on Monday, November 13.
Nursery to Grade 4 parents will be receiving an email from teachers, both homeroom and some specialists, consisting of topics, goals, resources/links, directions, and attached worksheets.  All worksheets should be printed out, answered, and given back on the first school day in which the students get back.
Grade 5 students will be using Google Classroom.  This is a learning platform in which teachers can create classes, upload worksheets, and give feedback to their students.

Parents are encouraged to guide and support students in their distance-learning opportunities.  Our Distance-Learning Program will be used during the ASEAN Summit week and days that are to be declared as #walangpasok.  Please be informed that teachers will be online from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM for any clarification and for consultation purposes.

We are also pleased to announce our annual Book Week Celebration, which runs from November 20 to 24.  Our students will engage in a variety of special book-related activities across grade levels.  In particular, they can look forward to dressing up as their favorite character on Book Character Day.  Please note that details of the week-long event will be sent out by your respective homeroom teachers.

Message from the EY/ES Director

Dear CISM Families,
September has flown by so fast!
Early Years and Elementary School have certainly had a fantastic month.  It has been busy, but the progress the students have made has been remarkable.  The entire team continues to be excited in witnessing their growth!
Now that October is approaching, we will be diving in to a lot of things as we prepare for a variety of activities.  This month, we will be having our Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 13, Friday.  In addition, United Nations Day and Halloween Celebration are big productions!  We could definitely use a lot of help from parents during these events.  Details of these activities, will follow.
As always, if you have questions or concerns – email me.  We are always willing to help and we continue to share this journey with all of you as we move ever forward into our school year.

Goodbye August, Hello September

Dear Parents,

It has been a busy and successful August for the Early Years and Elementary School Department. We have had an excellent start and I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that students have been highly engaged in their learning.  I am really proud of the work that our faculty has been doing to support student learning.  Our hard work is certainly paying off!

As the month is about to end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting this year’s Spirit Week celebration.  A big congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Best-Dressed Competition.

Please be reminded that August 28 and September 1 are both considered holidays. Therefore, there will be no classes on those days.

Lastly, I would like to invite all parents to attend our Open House on September 8, Friday.  The event would start sharply at 1:00 PM in the afternoon at the CISM MPH.  Save the date and see you!

First Two Weeks of School

Dear CISM Parents,

It is hard to believe that we are now on our second week of the school year 2017-2018.  We had a wonderful kick off last week, which ended with our first Early Years and Elementary School assembly.  Students spent the first few days of school getting to know one another and becoming comfortable with various classroom rules and routines.  Our teachers also worked hard to establish a safe and welcoming classroom environment.  We believe that, hand-in-hand, we can all work together to make this school year a successful one.
I will continue to communicate with you on relevant information regarding your children’s education as well as upcoming school events. Apart from the Spirit Week celebration from August 22 to 25, kindly take note of the following dates:
  • August 21 (No School) – Ninoy Aquino Day
  • August 28 (No School) – National Heroes’ Day
  • September 1 (To Be Confirmed with Malacañang) – Eid’l Adha
Thank you very much!
Ms. Rica
