Sports Day 2016 – 2017

Dear Parents,

Physical activity plays a very good role in the holistic development of young people; it stimulates their physical, social and emotional health. The advantages of participating in sports or physical activities reach beyond the impact on physical well-being and the value of the educational benefits of sport to an individual should not be underestimated.

In line with this, Chinese International School Manila will be having its first Sports Day event of the school year.  This will be on Tuesday, September 13.  Students will participate in different fun games and sports activities to promote the value of sportsmanship, camaraderie, teamwork, and leadership.

To all three houses:  Red, Yellow, and Blue, goodluck and let the games begin!

Last August 11, the Early Years and Elementary Department had their very first school assembly with the mindset — If we want to end right, we have to start right.  By 8.00 a.m. students from Pre-Kindergarten all the way to Grade 5 gathered at the MPH to welcome the school year 2016 – 2017.  It began with us singing the Philippine National Anthem and ended with the closing remarks from the Headmaster himself, Mr. Carlos Enriquez Jr.

Our assembly kicked off with the usual meet and greet headed by the new Early Years and Elementary Director.  It was then followed by a very warm welcome to all old and new CISM students.   During our gathering, much emphasis was given on the changes that were about to happen in school.  The school’s new Mission and Vision together with the entire school leadership team was introduced to the children.  With all these changes around them, the challenged given by our Headmaster to every student is to become a better version of themselves.

Hooray for good beginnings and hopefully, happy endings!

Letter from the Early Years and Elementary Director

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome each and everyone of you to Chinese International School Manila.

My goal is to work with each student, faculty member, and parent in order to attain the best possible experience for all involved.  Together with the Early Years and the Elementary Faculty, we make an incredible team.  Our combined efforts will create a strong foundation for each and every child that enters our school doors.

With your unending support dear parents, let’s all march forward as we enhance children’s curious minds towards becoming independent learners and innovative thinkers.  In cadence, we shall bring out children’s potentials to be the best they can be.

Cheers to a great school year for all of us!

Ma. Fleurica Miranda

Certified Awesome

This year, our goal was to be more awesome.  We wanted to level up, not only ourselves, but as well as others.  We were able to do this by accomplishing our own personal best and acknowledging all those around us.  We paid tribute to the different members of staff during our assemblies, had meaningful projects to uplift the lives of children from different organizations, and went beyond the hour to help save the earth.

I think it’s safe to say, mission accomplished.

Let’s look back at the wonderful year we had.
