Grade 6 JL and Gr.9 students study the cell, its structure and functions. They were also able to observe prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells under the microscope. In addition, students created their own analogy of the cell structure and functions. Some groups compared a cell and its parts with a chocolate factory. Another group compared the basic unit of life with a hospital.
Grade 10 Systems Design and Society students presented two versions of their chosen product’s Life-Cycle Assessment. The first LCA is of the traditional product that we could buy in the market today. The second LCA is of the new improved version of the product.
Students were grouped and decided to work on LCAs of eco cream eyeshadow, powdered shampoo and bio handsoap. As part of their final requirements for the course, students presented their LCAs in class and in front of Gr.9 students. They also showcased their actual final products. Gr.9 students tried the products to see its effectiveness.
