In line with its mission of instilling international-mindedness in its students, CISM is celebrating United Nations & World Languages Day on October 25, 2013.
High School students in grades 9 and 10 may come in costumes depending on the continent their grade level class is assigned, or as a famous person from that continent. They will join a short parade with Lower School students around the campus from 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The assigned continents per grade level are as follows (paired with lower school classes):
Grade 9 – South America
Grade 10 – North America
The Social Studies classes will spearhead interactive class presentations and activities with Lower School classes from 10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Immediately after, grades 9 and 10 homerooms will celebrate a simple class–based food fest of culinary delights from their assigned continent, from 10:50 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
Except for these specified activities, classes are expected to continue throughout the day.Grades 11 and 12 IBDP Group 2 classes (Chinese Mandarin; French and Spanish ab initio) will focus the day’s class discussions on the value of studying a modern language in the 21st century.
Second quarter will begin next Monday, the 21st, so it’s high time to rev up your motivational gear and accomplish everything that you had set your sights on at the beginning of this semester. No more fooling around. No more “cruising mode.” Put your best foot forward and show your parents, teachers and peers just how much you can achieve if you only STEP UP!!!
To refresh everyone’s memory, we are attaching the Parent’s Newsletter (normally found in our school website every week).
Our teachers and students have prepared a showcase of presentations to give you a feel of how our students (your children) are learning at this school. Be around to watch them do their best!
