Happy Friday, all!
It is officially one week since Book Week 2017 came to a close. This year’s theme from the International Association of School Librarianship is Connecting Communities & Cultures. In line with this, we invited a handful of administrators and faculty members to tell stories to different classes, each story originating from or discussing different countries.
For _____, we had our School President, Ms. Felicia Atienza,
Head of Schools, Mr. Tim Boulton, for
Faculty members, Ms. Madhu Saini, Ms. Iris Morga, Ms. Hazel Wong, and Mr. Juan Jose Del Alamo for India, Philippines, China, and Mexico respectively.
Aside from this, we had an International Bookmark Exchange Program. The students were asked to decorate bookmarks and we sent these out to our partner schools in China and Guatemala. We also received bookmarks from said partner schools, and we distributed these among CISM students.
For this year’s Book Week, we were once again joined by National Book Store and Laporte Archery, providing books and other fun activities for the students.
Our biggest event for Book Week was Book Character Dress Up Competition for Early Years/Elementary School, and a Book Trailer Competition for Upper School.
