“Today you are you, that is truer than true!
There is no one alive that is Youer than You!” – Dr. Suess
Last March 1, the CISM library hosted a small celebration for the 114th birthday of the iconic children’s book author Dr. Seuss. The event focused on the author himself and the children’s books that he wrote.
The Lower School library invited classes to experience various fun-filled activities.
Early Years and the Elementary students had read aloud classes of Dr. Seuss’ children’s books. Students love the stories specially the Green Eggs and Ham and Lorax.
Students had the chance to compete with their classmates in the Cat’s hat Tower Challenge and Cat’s hat Balancing Relay Race. They were all competitive and determined to win the game.
1 minute to win it! Teams in the Cat’s hat Tower Challenge had to build the tallest tower made of paper cups in 1 minute. Members of the winning team received a small gift from the library.
In the Dr. Seuss Memory Game, kindergarten students enjoyed flipping and finding pair of cards with characters from Dr. Seuss’ children’s books.
Grades 1 and 2 had fun learning facts about Dr.Seuss and characters from his books in the Dr. Seuss game using Kahoot! Grade 1 students even asked to play Kahoot! again the following week.
A lot of students tried their luck in the Estimation Game. They were all curious about the prize even before the start of the game. Each student had a chance to make one guess.
Someone got the right answer, can you guess who?
A student from Grade 1 TR gave the exact guess of 84! Her guess won her a brand new backpack with school supplies and Dr. Seuss’ activity book.
We also invited the students to try the Dr. Seuss Photo booth.
