November is always an exciting month, not only because it means we are just a month away from the holidays, but also because it’s BOOK WEEK!
This year, Book Week was held from November 19 – 23 2018, with the theme from the International Association of School Librarianship’s “WHY I LOVE MY SCHOOL LIBRARY.”
Books are always DEAR to us.. and for the whole Book Week, before the class starts, we wanted to make sure we Drop Everything And Read.
We also asked the help of our Art teachers, Mr.Nelson Suarez and Ms.Erika Santos to guide our students in making their own Book Cover designs. We were given different and colorful interpretations of book titles.
The Library is always thankful to the faculty, staff and the whole CISM community for their support so we prepared a small breakfast gathering to thank each and everyone.
Ms. Ellyce gave us some broadway feels when she sang “Home” from Beauty and the Beast.
Everyone is also looking forward for the Book Character Dress Up Day wherein students and teachers prepare and dress up based on their chosen book titles. We were presented wonderful and awesome blurbs with their creative and fun costumes, much to the delight of the audience.
We are always humbled and thankful for the gift of books and for all the wonderful people around.
“Books have a unique way of stopping time in a particular moment and saying: Let’s not forget this.” ― Dave Eggers
