Grade 4&5 Foundation Week 22

 

 

Grade 4&5 Foundation  Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 22: January 25-29, 2016

 

Hi! The students in grade 4&5 Foundation learned about occupations. They were able to share their parents’ occupation and even thought about what they want to do when they grow up. Students interacted with each other by using the sentences learned in class. They also wrote sentences about their personal information including their parents’ work.

Nursery Week 22

 

 

Nursery Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Hi! This week, students in nursery learned to identify the colors in Chinese. Students are matching Chinese words and the color. They love playing games and identifying colors. They are learning the three primary colors 红色、蓝色、黄色.

Grade 4&5 F Week 20

 

 

Grade 4&5 Foundation  Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 20: January 11-15, 2016

 

Hi! The students in this grade level were introduced to more words which can help them improve their way of introducing themselves. This week, students were asked to do activities (writing and speaking) to construct and make their own sentence. Some students needed guidance and were able to complete the task with teacher’s guidance. Students are encouraged to use the words “吗” and “呢” more regularly to get familiar with its use and functions.

Nursery week 20

 

 

Nursery Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 20: January 11- 15,  2016

 

Hi! Nursery students learned about animals and pets this week. Students are reviewing previous topics and incorporate them in the lesson. Students enjoy talking and playing with the animal puppets in class during discussions. The teacher gives the students time to recite a sentence in front of the puppet as if they are talking to it. It is actually a good way of practicing speaking skills for little ones.

Pre-K Week 20

 

 

Pre-Kindergarten Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 20: January 11- 15,  2016

 

Hi! This week was about animals and pets. Students learned animal words in Chinese. Students were asked to identify the Chinese characters of different animals. A Chinese rhyme was also introduced to the whole class to practice their pronunciation every day. This week has been a good week and I am looking forward to numerous good weeks ahead.

Nursery Week 19

 

 

Nursery Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 19: January 4- 8,  2016

 

Hi! Welcome back Nursery students and Happy 2016! This week Nursery class had a wonderful week having to see and share learning experience once again with their fellow classmates and teachers. A new Chinese song was introduced to the kids as they learn new words from this quarter’s topic – Friends and animals. The new song is 《我的朋友在哪里》;(Where is my friend?). Students had a lot of fun singing the song and doing its actions. They also recited the word 朋友(pengyou) and even identified their 朋友’s/friends in the classroom. The teacher also introduced his animal friends/动物朋友 : 小狗 and 小猫 to the students so they can play with them and speak to them in Chinese. The students had so much fun playing with their new friends/朋友 –小狗and 小猫.

Grade 4&5 F Week 19

 

 

Grade 4&5 Foundation  Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 19: January 4-8, 2016

 

Hi! Welcome back and Happy 2016! The 4th and 5th graders in Chinese foundation class had a quick review of the past lessons before going to the next topic. This quarter’s first topic would be self-introduction where they can apply most of what they learned last semester plus the additional vocabulary words that they are about to learn in this unit. Students had a few oral tasks in their first week of Chinese classes in the year 2016. They had question and answer activity and a few sentence construction activities as well. They also started writing a few Chinese characters in notebook 12. More writing activities will follow by next week.

Pre-K Week 19

 

 

Pre-Kindergarten Chinese – Mr. Arenas

Week 19: January 4- 8,  2016

 

Hi! Welcome back Pre-k students and I wish you a wonderful 2016! As we start the semester, students in pre-k were introduced in a few vocabulary words about animals and were taught ways to introduce themselves (Name and age). They also learned a couple of songs as they welcome the second semester. These songs are “你叫什么名字?” and “动物歌-巧虎”. They had fun singing the songs and participating in the games and activities.
