Fintastic Kindergarten!

August 7, 2017

Dear Parents,

First, I would like to send a warm welcome to all the CISM Kindergarten parents. My name is Maria Jinkee C. St. Laurent and I am honored to be your child’s teacher for school year 2017-2018. I have been in the profession for over ten years, serving as a Teacher Assistant in International School Manila and a Homeroom Teacher in Jewish School Manila. During this tenure, I completed a Masters degree at Southern University of New York where I developed a deep appreciation for education. I fell in love with teaching little children when I was introduced to a play-based system in ISM.  Having children, I know how much care and attention a child deserves. As a Kindergarten teacher, I will help foster growth in all aspects of your child’s development and look forward to working with you on this journey.

My philosophy in teaching is to create a learning environment that provides all students with opportunities to explore and act on their own ideas, to develop knowledge and skills in areas that interest them, and to make an increasing number of their own decisions and judgments.  Play is “serious learning” and I intend to combine this background with the CISM framework to ensure that your child would have a successful year.

I am a strong believer in the partnership of parents and the school.  With that said, please feel free to communicate with me through your children’s Assignment notebook, through email (mjstlaurent@cismanila.org), or schedule an appointment with Ms. Kitin Conchu (Tel No. 632 798-0011 Local 103 and 116) or you may send her an email at mconchu@cismanila.org.

Sincerely,

MARIA JINKEE C. ST. LAURENT

Kindergarten Teacher
