Give Me a Beat!

Last week, 8th graders started exploring GarageBand on the iPad as the next tool that we will use for a task in Digital Literacy class.  Everybody was just hyped as they started playing the different instruments, and some started experimenting in mixing up sounds for a track.

This week, we begin with the lessons on how to go about creating a beat, or mixing up beats, to create a track. The lesson was based on a video tutorial on YouTube. I only demonstrated the beginning of the tutorial, and as the students were already excited to try it on their own, I gave the link to the tutorial video and challenged them to come up with the same music that was created on the video.
