When Tradition and Technology Meet

Gong Xi Fa Cai! CISM welcomed the Year of the Wooden Horse with a Chinese cultural show. Presentations ranged from dances, skits, songs, to martials arts demonstration. It was a showcase of students’ talents and Chinese culture.

Of course, the part of the program that I will particularly brag about is a perfect example of how tradition is relived with technology. Gr. 9-10 students played traditional folk songs using GarageBand on iPads. Although it was an arduous task for the students to put the songs together, it was quite a reward in the end. One couldn’t even recognize that the songs were completely performed using iPads. Truly, technology integration at its best!
