Grade 2 Assembly

"What makes someone special?"

“What makes someone special?… It’s what’s unique in each of us…”

On September 30th, Grades 2MP and 2ML had their class assembly at the MPH.  The children introduced the IB Learner Profile to Early Years and Lower School.

"The difference is our differences..."

“The difference is our differences…”

"Variety adds spice to life..."

“Variety adds spice to life…”

They focused on the learner profile “open-minded,” which they defined as “knowing that people are different and may think differently than [them],” “trying to understand others,” and appreciating [their] culture as well as the values and traditions of others.”

"If there was only one note, how boring life would be..."

“If there was only one note, how boring life would be…”

The children related being open-minded to an international celebration on September 21st:  the International Day of Peace.  They also showed a video on what the school community thought about peace.

"You're you, I'm me, Together we can live in harmony..."

“You’re you, I’m me,
Together we can live in harmony…”

The children had so much fun working with Grade 2ML and showcasing their talents to everyone!  Many thanks to all the parents for preparing the children’s costumes and helping them memorize their lines and lyrics!

Book Character Day

The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle

The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle

From October 24th to 28th, CISM celebrated Library Week.  The much-awaited Book Character Day was on the 25th when each class dressed up according to its chosen book and presented a two-minute blurb.

"Hey you, wanna fight?"

“Hey you, wanna fight?”

"If you insist."

“If you insist.”

Grade 2MP presented “The Grouchy Ladybug” by Eric Carle.  The children dressed up as ladybugs, bees, bird, snake, gorilla and rhinoceros.  They sang a made-up song to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell” and acted out scenes when the grouchy ladybug asked for a fight with other animals.

"Its temper flares up once again..."

“Its temper flares up once again…”

The children had a great time rehearsing and performing!  Thank you once again to our dear parents for preparing the children’s costumes!
