March 2, 2018 marks a very special day for the Hindu community. As we are learning about different cultures, traditions, and countries, our class decided to celebrate the festival of colours or what we call HOLI HAI!
Since we had no class on March 2, we instead moved our celebration to March 6th. This special occasion is celebrated all around the world, and we thought that it would be nice to celebrate it as well.
Holi Hai celebrates the coming of spring, the joy of friendship, and equality for all. The colored powders used in Holi represent happiness, love, and the freedom to live vibrantly.
Our class really enjoyed throwing coloured powder at each other. But what we really enjoyed the most was the water fight with water balloons and a hose which made us even dirtier!
“Don’t mind the mess, the children are learning”.
We of course cleaned up after the celebration. We brought in the things we needed to shower such as shampoos, soap, towel, and even a blow drier!
It was indeed a happy day! Happy Holi Hai!
