Dear 1st Grade Parents,

Welcome to Grade 1-TR!  I am thrilled to be back in CISM, and extremely delighted to be working with you and your child this academic year 2017-2018.

A brief background about myself: I am Ms. Red to the students, and I’ll be teaching the 4 Core Subjects in collaboration with Ms. Dana. I graduated from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, with 30 units in Master of Arts in Education to date. Since 2009, I have worked as a licensed teacher at different progressive schools in Metro Manila.

I would like to share with you a poem I adapted from an unknown author, which speaks volumes to me:

 Whose Child is This?

“Whose child is this? I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play
“Mine,” said the parent with a tender smile
“Mine to keep a little while
To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear
To prepare him that he may always be good
And each day do the [best as he could].”

“Whose child is this? I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in
“Mine,” said the teacher with the same tender smile
“Mine to keep just for a little while
To [show] him how to be gentle and kind
To [help him discover] his great little mind
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school.”

“Whose child is this? I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
“Ours,” said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child.
“Ours to love and [care] together
Ours this blessed task forever.”

I look forward to collaborating with you and in partnership with the CISM community to ensure that your child continues to develop into becoming a well-rounded individual.

Best regards,

TRINI MAINE S. REDUBLA
